Dr Gaby

Dr. Gaby Escalante, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Gaby Escalante (DVM, DACVAA) is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist & co-founder of Midwest Anesthesia Consulting Veterinary Services (MACvet).

Dr.Gaby supports veterinary teams nationally and locally in Chicagoland through her mobile case consultation & training services, where she aims to make advanced anesthesia accessible to all animals – no matter the clinical setting or team’s experience with veterinary anesthesia. She has an immense love for teaching and truly believes the mindset of “teaching is learning twice”. She is always eager to share her knowledge about veterinary anesthesia with veterinary professionals, as well as Pet Parents. She enjoys speaking directly with Pet Parents, as she believes they are an integral part of the pet’s care team, to discuss any concerns or worries they may have for their pet’s anesthesia. Her role in a pet’s care team is to ensure the anesthetic experience - for the Pet, the Pet Parents, and the Pet Care Team - is smooth & comfortable from initial visit to the healing journey at home.

When not focused on her sharing her love for veterinary anesthesia, Dr.Gaby enjoys spending time with her partner Jeff and her zoo of animals (dogs, budgies, pigeon, russian tortoise, and multiple freshwater aquariums). She is obsessed with any and all birds, fancy cocktails, and karaoke!

Customer Service Representative

Growing up around animals sparked a lifelong passion for caring for them and learning about their behavior and well-being. I am currently attending community college and enjoy expanding my knowledge of animals whenever I can.

At home, I stay busy caring for my three dogs—Zeus, Ellie, and Virgo—and my two ball pythons, Echo and Zulu. During high school, I worked part-time at a dog boarding and daycare facility, where I gained valuable hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds and personalities.

In my free time, I enjoy mystery, crime, and horror books, movies, and television shows. My love for animals and my experience caring for them continue to inspire my personal and professional goals.
